Ancient Cookware

This web site is a consolidation of our lives’ passions; cooking, traveling, writing, photography, interacting with indigenous people, and eating. Throughout our travels (67 countries so far and counting), we have always had a fascination for experiencing local cultures, customs, and foods. Along the way we have run into some interesting and unique cooking techniques and cookware, not to mention foods. Here we try to share our experiences with you and offer you some of those unique and beautiful cookware and utensils. Some have existed since ancient times, and hence the name for the site. Others are more recent developments but not always easily obtainable other than by visiting those far flung places.

While experiencing those local cultures and finding sources of items for this site, we have met some great people; most which we now consider friends. They are hardworking people which sometimes toil all day to survive. There is a sense of gratification knowing that providing them a worldwide outlet for their products gives them the opportunity of a better life.  Buying some of the items on this site will not only beautify your kitchen and give you the pleasures of exotic food experiences, but you will also be helping people in all corners of the globe.

We also include in the site tips on caring for your new cookware and recipes to help you enjoy them to the fullest, as well as some insights on where these products are made, how, and by whom. We even make available some hard-to-get ingredients to help you in making and savoring those exotic flavors.
